Type: 1099/Subcontract • Area: Greater St. Louis (MO/IL) • Reports to: Superintendent / PM
Overview
Deliver waterproof, plumb, and visually precise tile installations in showers, surrounds, and floors. You understand membranes, slope, and manufacturer systems and can produce showcase‑ready finishes.
Responsibilities
Substrate evaluation and prep; build planes and plumb/flat surfaces
Waterproofing: Schluter/RedGard or equivalent membranes per manufacturer specs
Layouts, cuts, and lippage control; edging/trim profiles; transitions
Grouting, sealing, and cleanup; protect adjacent finishes
CompanyCam photo documentation; ClickUp notes and material logs
Requirements
4+ years tile setting; wet saw and pro tool kit; own vehicle
Proven waterproofing proficiency and slope/tolerance literacy
Ability to read plans and collaborate with plumbing, glass, and carpentry trades
Preferred
Portfolio with in‑progress membrane shots; RRP/OSHA‑10
KPIs
Waterproofing QA (no moisture failures)
Lippage tolerance, grout line consistency, and edge detail quality
Schedule adherence and low rework rate
Pay & Terms
Per sf/feature/PO; milestone draws on larger scopes; Net‑7 after approved close‑out
